Imagine four hours on a KTM 450 EXC-F, the same bike that wins Erzbergrodeo, threading through Saharan dunes and rocky dry-river tracks with a Berber guide who's ridden this exact circuit since childhood. The Half-Day Enduro Ride is our most-booked tour — long enough to feel like proper off-road, short enough to fit into any Morocco itinerary.

4 hours · morning or afternoon departure
Mixed terrain · soft dunes, rocky tracks, riverbed
Local guide · born in Merzouga, English/French/IT/ES
Insurance · bike & rider covered
The day, by hour

Your four hours on the bike.

  1. 08:30 · Hotel pickup in Merzouga

    Welcome coffee & bike fit

We collect you, drive 10 minutes to our base, and greet you with mint tea. We adjust the bike to your height, take you through the controls, and run a quick safety briefing.

  2. 09:00 · Sand basics on flat ground

    Sand-riding fundamentals

Thirty minutes on the flats learning throttle control, body position and how to read sand. Beginners especially — by the time we hit real dunes you'll feel confident.

  3. 09:30 · Erg Chebbi dunes

    Into the dunes

Two hours threading the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi. We climb Chebbi's tallest dune (150m), stop for hero-shots, and where possible drop into untouched bowls.

  4. 11:30 · Off-piste rocky tracks

    Contrast — rocks & palmeraie

The terrain shifts: we leave the dunes and drop into rocky descents and shaded palm-grove tracks. Cool air, technical corners, photo stops.

  5. 12:30 · Back to base

    Cool down, debrief, drop-off

Back to base by 12:30. Showers available. We send you the photos from the day. If you booked a transfer, we drop you back at your hotel.

What people say about this tour.

"
Picked the half-day as our first Sahara experience. Three of us with zero off-road. Our guide got us riding dunes with confidence. Genuinely the highlight of our 12 days in Morocco.

Booked a week before, WhatsApp'd back in 20 minutes, picked us up at the hotel. Two hours into the dunes I'd stopped overthinking and just rode. Worth every dirham.

Half-day specific

Things people ask before booking.

Is 4 hours enough to feel the Sahara?
Yes — we use the time on-bike, not on transfers. You'll cover every terrain type (soft sand, rocks, palmeraie) inside four hours of saddle time. Most riders tell us it was the perfect length.
Morning or afternoon start?
Both. Morning (08:30–12:30) is the cool window — best for first-timers. Afternoon (15:00–19:00) catches the sunset — best for photos. We'll suggest what's best for your travel date.
I'm not athletic — is this still OK?
Yes. You're standing on the pegs more than sitting. If you can ride a bicycle confidently for an hour, you can do this. We host riders 16 to 71. The KTM 450 EXC is light (111 kg) and forgiving.
Can my partner ride pillion?
Not on the KTM tours — pillion on a dirt bike is rough. If they want to come, book them a quad or buggy for the same window. We're happy to stagger the start times.
What if it rains?
It almost never rains in Merzouga (3–5 days/year). If it does, we swap to rocky terrain for safety and refund the difference. We've never cancelled a tour in 8 years.
